About the Artist
My name is Sherrie Posternak, and I have made art in various mediums since I was a teenager. Photography, jewelry making, mosaic, collage, and encaustic (www.sherrieposternak.com) use materials and techniques that have all seduced me through the years. The focus of my artwork in any one or more of these mediums depends on which will help me realize my particular “conversation” in the best manner possible.
I am ecstatic about launching this business which has been in the planning stage for almost four years. My ever-growing love of the Latin culture and Spanish language, especially travels to and long stays in Mexico, feeds my energy to design bright colorful aprons, bags, and other accessories out of tela ahulada or Mexican oilcloth. This durable material has a long history, and may help us travel vicariously to other places and times!
